From a practical problem on the fairways to a manufacturing partnership across the region — how The Clobber Club came to be.
01. It started on the fairways
For five years, Dapper Dan Golf was the go-to answer for golf societies needing customised, high-quality shirts. Anyone who has tried to outfit a society knows the recurring headache: consistency. Sourcing exact quantities, in matching designs and identical colourways, time after time, proved nearly impossible through standard supply channels. The demand was plainly there; the traditional supply chain was not.
02. A chance meeting
The turning point came through a chance meeting with the owner of a third-generation family manufacturing business. He brought a considerable pedigree — his family's factories had spent decades producing high-performance gear for global names and several premium European labels.
03. Batu Pahat: a rare find
Batu Pahat is unusual in the textile world. Unlike most regional hubs, which lean heavily on imported materials, it operates a self-contained apparel manufacturing micro-environment. From knitting and dyeing to final garment construction, the entire process happens locally — offering uncommon control over lead times, material consistency and quality assurance.
04. From Dapper Dan to The Clobber Club
Recognising the potential of the partnership, Dapper Dan Golf evolved. What began as a solution for society shirts grew into The Clobber Club — a brand built on heritage, end-to-end independence and elite craftsmanship.
05. Built to go the distance
Driven by our partner's obsessive attention to detail and generations of technical expertise, The Clobber Club has developed a range defined by premium durability, superior fit and absolute colour consistency. Beyond its golfing roots, the range now dresses corporate clients, teams and touring groups the world over.
